Press Release - For Immediate Release

Goshen Parking Permits Required

Winter parking at Goshen’s Old Province Road trailhead will be by permit only. The trailhead parking is not closed, but Mark Beaudry, Goshen’s road agent, requests that hikers who need to park there call him the day before their hikes to obtain a permit to be placed on dashboard. Mark’s mobile number is 603-477-1681.

The SRK Greenway Board advises winter hikers to avoid the Province Trail parking at the top of Old Province Road in Goshen. The trailhead doubles as a plow truck turnaround in snow and ice conditions. Any cars blocking snow plows and salting trucks will be towed away and ticketed. Hikers heading from Goshen toward the Sunapee summit or further toward Lake Solitude, Newbury, or the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway should park at the upper side of ski bowl parking in Mount Sunapee State Park and use the Summit Trail, which is reached by the service road behind the handicapped skiers building.

Hikers completing Trail 2, from Goshen to Sunapee Town Office, should pick a clear day and call the Goshen road agent for parking permission.
